Personal Support

When someone new comes in to the centre, they’re ‘adopted’ by one of our staff: our informal rule is that once you’ve talked to someone for 10 minutes, they’re ‘yours’, and you take responsibility for their case.

The support can range from visiting someone in hospital or going round to their house to do some cleaning, to delivering hot food and drinks to a person living on the streets. The act itself can seem quite small, but the effects can be dramatic. Just as importantly, this personal support can help people who’ve lost everything to feel valued, cared for and part of the community again.
